Security Plan for the Transportation of Petroleum / Hazardous Materials (HM232)
Pursuant to 49 CFR Part 172 Hazardous Materials: Security Requirements for Offerors and Transporters of Hazardous Materials, a security plan must be developed if one offers for transportation or transport of liquids or gases in a single packaging such as a cargo tank motor vehicle, portable tank, tank car or other bulk container for a large bulk quantity of a Class 3 material meeting the criteria for Packing Group I or II, such as gasoline. A large bulk quantity is defined as 3,000 liters (792 gallons) of liquids or gases.
